Matthew Shaw joins pioneers of digital lending management and transformation, brings over 15 years of experience in the industry
August 22, 2018 – eOriginal today announced that it has appointed accomplished legal executive Matthew Shaw as General Counsel to lead the company’s legal team through its next phase of growth.
An attorney with deep technology, corporate governance, and commercial experience, Shaw has led legal functions of publicly traded companies and acted as general counsel to subsidiaries and early stage spin-out entities. In past roles, Shaw has helped his teams develop and support new lines of business, increase efficiency and approach risk in innovative ways. His approach to law is focused on collaboration and assisting business leaders determine novel and practical ways of approaching the challenges of expanding a company.

Shaw has over 15 years’ experience counseling clients on a variety of corporate, commercial and technology matters. Before joining eOriginal, Matthew served as Deputy General Counsel at InterDigital, Inc., a research and development organization focused on mobile technology. In this role he was responsible for all transactional legal matters including software licensing, securities and M&A. Prior to InterDigital, he served as Associate General Counsel at TheStreet, Inc. and Senior Director of Technology Policy at Time Warner Cable, Inc.

Outside of eOriginal, Shaw is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Philadelphia chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and InLiquid, a non-profit organization supporting visual arts in Philadelphia. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Rochester.
