Our next Employee Spotlight selection is PJ Disclafani, eOriginal’s Lead Quality Assurance Engineer. PJ’s team is tasked with trying to “break” our software via manual testing and automated scripts that they write and maintain. If they find bugs, they’re doing their job. “We want to ensure that we deliver the best product possible to our customers,” he noted.
Question: What is one word that you would use to describe your team at eOriginal?
PJ: Quality. Not only is it part of the name of the department [Quality Assurance], but the team does great work.
Question: What’s the greatest bit of advice a parent or mentor has given you?
PJ: When I was 4 or 5 my Mom told me to always do my best. I took her words to heart and have tried to live by them. In high school, my Mom occasionally tried to convince me to go to sleep rather than continue with my homework late into the night. I would remind her that it was she who had told me to always do my best. At moments like that, she would sometimes say she regretted ever imparting that particular wisdom, but I think it has served me well.
Question: If you could choose an age to remain forever, which age would you choose?
PJ: I’d love to physically be a kid forever, but age is just a state of mind.
Question: What fictional place would you like to visit?
PJ: Sesame Street, circa 1975, with (most of) the original cast still intact. I’ve always been a huge fan of that show. I still look up classic old skits on YouTube from time to time.
Question: What do you enjoy doing to relieve stress?
PJ: Bicycling and running are my two escapes. I love the challenge of endurance sports, and they also give me a chance to decompress and think.
In the spirit of the holidays, we selected the right employee this month that represents an individual we are grateful to know and work with. PJ is as genuine as them come, and an amazing father to his adorable daughter, Ruby.
