Signature Pads

eOriginal’s extensive experience in supporting signature pads showcases SmartSign’s electronic signature capture capabilities by securely collecting and applying handwritten electronic signatures. As an early adopter of signature pad technology, we’ve leveraged their use in a variety of financial business processes with many of our customers and partners.

Signature capture devices are preferred by some organizations because they feel their users are more comfortable with seeing their signature in a more traditional fashion particularly in a point-of-sale (POS) environment. Newer more sophisticated devices such as those available in our web store capture additional data such as stroke speed and pressure, which can be used for validation.

How it works

When a document is presented to a signatory, the user simply clicks a “sign” button on the screen and SmartSign Web® activates the pad for the user. The user signs on the pad and clicks on an “OK” button right on the pad. The users written signature, along with the biometric data (e.g. pressure, speed, etc.) is sent back to the server where it is securely bound to the document. The result is a more secure, smoother, and streamlined process that reduces paper and shortens the sales cycle instantaneously moving documents through the approval chain.
